Thank you again for ‘Thinking Terranova’ during 2006. Despite it being another challenging year for the Onion Industry, I am very pleased with the overall performance of our varieties in the market place.
2007 is looking to be another excellent year for the Terranova range.
Firstly, I have some excellent news for those of you that have been looking to increase your plantings of Red Emperor. We have good volumes of stock of this excellent variety available now. It is high quality seed with excellent germ.
Secondly, for those of you interested in looking at new varieties, the enclosed brochure shows some
excellent additions in both Open Pollinated and Hybrid varieties.
These include three OP’s that come out of our New Zealand programme. All show good skin colour and
storage potential, typical of NZ sourced material.
Our close working relationship with ENZA is now showing some great results. The new hybrid varieties described in the brochure reflect the next step forward in the ENZA breeding programme.
There are seven new Hybrids covering both short and intermediate day varieties as well as ‘Misty’, our new white variety.
